Sometimes, it pays to have a wife that's bored. My wife was bored this afternoon following 1 1/2 days of rain, and she wanted to get out of the house, so we drove to the St. Sebastian River Preserve State Park located at the Brevard County - Indian River County line. While there, we came upon this American Kestrel ..........

Some birds are tough to get close to. These are really nice images, I never tire of seeing shots like these.

Absolutely gorgeous! You're lucky! The last kestrel I saw was too far away to get the shot I wanted.

I am so envious of number 2! I haven't had a decent shot of a kestrel since Nov. 2007. They are just so skittish.
