People tend to love winter around here. Both these shoots were done in ridiculously cold weather. This is what the clients wanted so I naturally obliged.

First up, Michelle and Jordan!

I'm glad I don't live where you do. I'd have to buy special weatherproofing camera covers and wear an additional 5 layers of clothing.

I think my faverite for some reason is # 5 of erin and chris....

    She thinks my tractor's sexy......

Got to love the cows also.....Laughing.gif....

    Some really nice work.
Not a big fan of the HDR shots or (tonal contrast). Those shots would have been fine on their own I am thinking.
You captured a lot of personality and some very creative shots.
    Nice job!
I am sure the couple was very happy with these!

    Love them!

Seriously, the kiss in front of the stained glass windows, and then again in front of the knicker shop, and yep love the second couple on the fence, and then the one with the herd watching in the background!

    Really nice work

Great series! So different from each other! The in town shots were great, The phone booth shot made me laugh! I think i have figured out the plug in you're using and liked the effects. The farm series I thought captured the couple great. I dont know them - but from the shot of them on the fence you can 'get to know them'. Bottom line, you captured the couples in their own environment.

There are no HDR shots here, but there is some with a little tonal contrast. mwink.gif Thanks for the comments! The first photo for Michelle and Jordan was cross-processed slightly.

I like your style. I think you are on to something. You have to figure out a way to stand out from the rest, or you will be lost amongst the masses.

I would like to see more of your post processing. I see you are going to shoot a wedding in late February...good luck.

    Thanks for sharing.

The one on the pickup the fence and on the tractor.
They are great shots but tone the effect back just a bit you don't need to take it that far.
The effect works....just went a bit to far with it on those three.
I really love these shots other wise...great stuff.

Thanks Gadget_Girl. I make my own actions. I have about 10-15 actions that I might use in certain situations.

I appreciate you keeping my name handy. Just looking through your website and really like some of the landscape stuff you've done.

The Peterborough-Kawartha area is really tough to get into for wedding photography. We have tons of excellent photographers (one that is world famous) so I tend to advertise out of the area. I like to travel so its no biggie for me.

You know how you can tell when there is a great series of shots...... When I scroll down and keep saying that one is my favorite, no wait that one is my favorite, no the next one....... etc. Ended up not deciding on a favorite I like them all.

Although I must say the "Hanky Panky Thong" sign above their heads in the shot of them kissing against the storefront is priceless

    Great series clap.gif

Just one question..... What is all that white stuff??? we dont see that in these parts - lol.

#2 is so soft - how is that lit? Did you do anything fancy in post?

I think the HDR-like look on the tractor works especially well also.

I love shooting in that kind of weather (to a certain extent) but the weather in minnesota recently has been in the freggin' 40s! it's crazy, everything is melting... :(

These were all naturally lit. I like to use side-lighting a lot (the landscaper in me I guess). For post-processing I have about 10-15 custom actions that I've built in photoshop that I use in certain situations. I've tried Kubota's and Ittybitty and was not a big fan, so I created my own.

I called the action used in #2 "soft, yet sharp". This is because most actions I've seen are either one or the other, but not both. :D
