One of the redeeming things about my point n shoot- besides it being waterproof- is the macro mode it has!! it gets amazingly close! (I can't yet afford a proper macro lens for my 40D... so out comes the little camera for the task... )
Here is one shot I like, I was playing around with my camera while hanging out with some friends, and I asked one of the girls if she wouldn't mind if I tried something... she was concerned at first, then realized it would not be so bad.. (except for the bright flash in her eye!)
I used a small piece of napkin to partly diffuse the flash- being a point n shoot I did not have much for alternatives....
Pentax Optio W10, P mode + macro focus mode, flash set to auto
c/c welcome, thanks for looking!
ps, although its kinda funny.. I need to find a way to dim the flash a little more- you can see the reflection of the camera in her eye!

If you cant afford a macro lens, then you can use reversing or extension tubes. that is what i did when i started.
