<!-- google_ad_section_start -->Hey all,

I would like to ask about: What is art in photography?
How can you define Photography Fine Art?
When you can say about a photo that it is art?
What is the standard or qualification for the photo to be an art?
Who can tell about any photo that it is an art?

    From wikipedia
    Art is the process or product of deliberately arranging elements in a way that appeals to the sense or emotions. It encompasses a diverse range of human activities, creations, and modes of expression, including music and literature. The meaning of art is explored in a branch of philosophy known as Aesthetics.

    I think it depends on a viewer and the creator, they are who decide if the photo is art or not. People have certain criteria in mind which they may use unintentionally to refer a picture or anything as art. This criteria is effected by number of events and experiences viewer or creator faces through out his life. May be this is why there are so many forms of art today, and they are diverse as humans today.

    I hope you understand my pointheadscratch.gif

    There is no easy answer to your question. Books have been written on the subject and they do not agree with one another. Part of the problem is that artists are constantly exploring the boundaries and thus changing the definition. My personal definition is that anything that causes me to see the world in a new, different way is art. You should feel free to come up with your own criteria, though.

    I see, ok, thank you very much
    Then i hope my work can be artistic, in spite of some people who don't consider it to be an art.

    To me art in photography is when the finished print does not faithfully reproduce the scene that was shot, for example, a pylon has been removed from the picture, the sky has been changed and then right on through to the infra red and hdr photographs.

    A camera was invented to capture a moment in time, and since then people have sought ways to change the photograph that is produced.

    As Richard said, there is no one answer and to many it is personal opinion (as above), in the same way as Tracey Enim "My Bed" was called art

    Art in photography is a vision. You want to get the shot that ressembles your vision. To me music is a great inspriration to making art.

    One is vocally expressed & one is (digitally) expressed & printed.
