So I was inside browsing the forums, and I had placed my camera within reach of my seat.. Outside the sliding door on the deck I had placed some crumbled up chips on a post to see what kind of birds would show up (or Squirrels) and I could practice some more, working on my shots.. but of course, the only birds that seemed to show up for my snacks were starlings.. which to me, is about as exciting as crows or seagulls.. they seem to be everywhere...:bluduh

anyway, here is my starling shot... I made it work I suppose :D

Now... one of the things I did not expect, is that while this little birdie was feasting away, and one of his other starling friends came down to snack too- while they were not paying any attention to their surroundings, (and neither was I) I sat back down at the computer.. and saw a red tailed hawk fall out of the sky and land in the bush next to the deck! it was apparently coming in for lunch too!! :wow but I don't think it wanted the chips :deal
The hawk did not catch the starling, but he sat there just long enough for me to get one decent shot before taking flight again...

I guess you never know what kind of animals/birds you will attract with just some chips :wink

c/c welcome, thanks for looking!

Starlings are like Dandelions...if there wasn't so damn many of them, you would think they were beautiful. :D

Nice catch on the hawk. thumb.gif
