My first attempt at an urban shoot. I normally shoot in nature settings in the parks.
I drug Jackie along so even if the pictures didn't work there would at least be something good to look at, she is my nephews girlfriend. I have posted pics of her here before. Anyway most of these are with natural light, it just worked out that way. I had my softbox but did not use it much.

Lovely series! I like the varierty of the backgrounds and the smoothness of the natural light. clap.gif
My only nit is that she may need to work on her facial expressions (#10 looks rather forced)

Thanks everyone for the positive comments, appreciate it.

    Nikolai,
She had several different looks, seems I just like one the best haha.
She has 0 model experience, for the first 1/2 hour she was all giggles and would not hold a pose. I kept working with her and by the end of the shoot she was a posing maching...she just needed some confidence.
I am sure you probably see the same thing with a lot of the younger girls.

Yeah, I hear ya. Most of novice models need some time to get into the groove. Pros can fire up almost instantly (well, 10-15 minutes may still be needed). But I rarely shoot less than 2-3 hours and almost always the best stuff comes at the end.

I agree with everyone's comments and would like to add one thing: Pitcure #3. Compare it to numbers one and nine. When shooting 3/4 face shots, it's best to keep the tip of the nose inside the cheek: It's more flattering and doesn't break the curve of her face. It also keeps the emphasis on the eyes. Otherwise, everything about this series is outstanding. Excellent work. thumb.gif

I've experienced the model readiness issues that Nikolai mentions, too. The more experienced the model, the quicker she slips into the groove of posing. Still, excellent work on both your parts for this shoot.

    I drug Jackie along

This statement had me do the "he did what?" look! I am sure it is grammatically correct....just could be read wrong the first time! rolleyes1.gif

Great pictures btw. Any chance you would share your setup info? Lens, lights and so on?
