Hey everyone, Today I begin my photo workshop on the old historic Rt 66. The trip is being run by Dave Wyman and Ken Rockwell. I am very excited and hope to have a good time. I will be shooting Digital and also brought a FE film camera. First time using a film camera and hope it goes well. Wish me luck and I will post some pics when i get home. !!!!!!

Wow, you went right by my house, and didn't even stop in to say hi. :cry

Kidding. I missed this post first time around. Aaron Newman and I shot the same stretch of road the very next weekend. You hit the big storm! That was the biggest snow I've seen here since moving here from NY three years ago and probably the biggest storm in 10 years. Those snow scenes of Hackberry and Seligman are extremely special.

Great shots! I examined all the shots in your gallery in great detail. You got some really good stuff there. thumb.gifthumb

I was going to give you a link to my night shot of Mr D's Diner, but when I looked it up, you'd already commented on it. Thanks!

Anyway, I really enjoyed seeing your pictures and perspectives of my neck of the woods. It looks like you certainly enjoyed your trip.

BTW, how was Ken Rockwell to hang with?

    Cheers,
    -joel

Sorry man if i know I would have looked you up, I was there a day earily. I just hung out in Barstow for a day and ate at Peggy Sue's on sat and took some pics at night. Then I met the group the next day. Ken Is a very nice guy. He is very smart, although he won't admit it. Whenever I had any kind of question he was the first to help out and gave great advice. The leader of the trip Dave Wyman is also a top notch guy, very helpful and informative. I recomend a tour with him, and the pricing is great too.

Great series of shots - the best is your shot of the Hackberry General Store buried in new snow. We just missed it by a day or so.

Thanks for the comment. It was crazy, we ran our car off the road and wound up seperating from the group and stayed at the Halipai (spelling) motel the niht before. But we got the good snow shots on the way back to Kingman AZ.
