Don't stare at the sun, even in post

I was shooting some sun rises the other morning. Caught a few I really liked but the sun is blown out at its center. I tried a touch up in Photoshop CS4 using the color replacement tool. It looks better then the original, but I suspect there is a better way of fixing it. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
