I have Lightroom; Photoshop CS3, Silver Efex Pro.

1. Has anybody used a grayscale photo in Silver Efex Pro? What was the outcome. If not good why would that be?

2. When you Silver Efex Pro with Smart Layers do I need to flatten layers in order to transfer photo back to Lightroom. Please advise best method.

3. Can I use Lightroom to send completed processed photo to a web site or for printing? Or do I have to use Photoshop CS3 to send to a lab on Line or to a web site?

I apologise for the silly questions very new at the editing processes.

thank you

Sue

    Hello Sue.

    1. I have never tried to work with a grayscale image in Silver EFEX, no.

    2. You do not need to flatten, but i HIGHLY recommend it! Your file size will most likely be 10x larger if you do not flatten.

    3. You would use Lightroom to send it to printing or lab- in terms of workflow it is easier to do this through Lightroom.

Just a heads up, Silver Efex is now available for Lightroom 2.3. It is a free upgrade. I haven't done it yet, but I plan to tomorrow. Just go to NIK's website and you can upgrade.

    Cheers,

    Jeff
