No wire this time.

I finally get a hawk to pose on something other than a wire. I just wish there were a little more color. It was a pretty dull day here.

Also I'm not sure just what this is. Help please???

    It looks to me like a Rough-legged Hawk, they winter in your neck of the woods. Great shot!!

    Way to go Bud! You nailed this beauty! She looks huge, much larger than the red tailed hawks around me. Great eye contact and super detail in that plumage. Knowing what lens you have, you must have been able to get very close. I agree with Bill. I am almost positive that is a rough-legged hawk as well. I have never seen one in the wild though.
