I though it might be useful to have a way of bringing my flash unit around closer to the end of the lens, without having to hold it. I got a "tee" bracket from the hardware store and proceeded...

I shortened one leg and tapped some holes for backup nuts for the tripod screw.

I threaded the "wings" of the "tee" for some alternate mounting points. And, after some charcoal wrinklefinish paint this is the result.

Here is the bracket in use. With some of the RAM parts already in hand, I think I have spent around $25-$30 for the stuff I got new.

Oh, I am using this with the Sigma 150MM Macro lens I bought myself for the 61st birthday.
