Glad I made it over to Viera Wetlands, sorry I missed most of it. Harry great to see you again, nice to me some new fellow Dgrinners. Harry should have picked up on what you said when you asked me what EV I was using. I could have gotten some better detail at -1.0 instead of -.7. Still had fun and cant wait until next year.

Viera Wetlands is a special place. I have never gotten this close to and Egret before (only using a 200mm so it was great to get so close). This one let me follow it for 10min.

Love that second to last one of the GBH on the perch. Your hawk looks like one of the resident harriers.

Nice shots, especially the last capture. It's a Northern Harrier, identified in the old Field Guides as a Marsh Hawk.

Did you go? It really is a special place. I live a block from a lake and can never get close with my 200.

I can not wait to see Harry's image of this guy. He was using a 300mm I was standing right next to him and got to look at his screen... looked like he nailed it!

The last four captures are very good Mark. clap.gif You even got a good oen of that unccoperative harrier.

It takes some practice to nail the exposure on those egrets. I thought a -.7 was a tad conservative.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    .7 was.
You look at the little monitor on the back of your camera.... Nothing flashing.... so you go with it, but those Egrets just are so bright. I tried -1 but in the camera monitor it looked to dark. I guess you just have to build the trust with knowing the image will have more detail once you get home and get it on the big screen. I am still blown away with the fact I could get so close. MM

No, unfortunately I was not there. Maybe someday I will. I am here in Texas and work is always busy this time of year so it is difficult to get there, but maybe some day.
