Sumerian gods.

Through an antiquities dealer friend, I picked up these 4 Sumerian Gods. They were made between 6th and 3rd millennium BC. They are hand carved stone and were originally made to be hung on a necklace. They are among the earliest artifacts found in the Mesopotamia region, which is now southern Iraq.

Again very interesting subjects.
Much better on the shadows in these but find the BG patterning a bit distracting.
Not sure how you are shooting these but have you tried using a curved paper background ?- ie stick a sheet of paper to something so it curves down onto the table and then place the subject near the front of the curve.
