Just went down to the waterfront here in Tacoma to walk the new dog with the family, always with the D3. Saw this great cloud formation and thought, Cool.
PP combined 2 RAW images with CS3.

Great sky! I like the comp on the second one better. If you had the first with more frame to the left and less on the right I would probably like that better. That water color is awsome!

Gorgeous sky and colors, I live 30 minutes away, and I've still never photographed the Tacoma waterfront or city (I'm an idiot). I agree with cj99si's comments on the composition of the first. You could still get it with a crop, but when there's clouds like that, it's hard not to go wide and include all of them :D

Always love the clouds. This would be an awesome HDR candidate.

Thanks everyone for your comment's, I'm glad my attempts are appreciated.

Thanks Ron, Love your stuff also, I just wish I had half the time you do to go out to all the great locations that are at our disposal to shoot.

I agree on the comp changes, I can do that with the web viewed images, but I like to try to display full frame what I shoot in relationship to what I can print large keeping high ppi.
    Does that make sense?
Since I just started shooting large birds in flight, I realize I even force myself to only allow crops that keep the subject as full frame as possible while staying at 250 ppi within a 8x10 print, even thu I want to always be able to print as large as I can. I'm still learning how to transition between digital and print and all the variables, like what the rules are for acceptable printing headscratch.gif

After all that, with this images I was trying different framing by panning left and right while keeping the boat and clouds in the shot, but lost the dynamics of the clouds panning right, and got to much waterfront/land panning to the left.
In all honesty, all I wanted was the sky :D , but walked out the dock to get away from the trees and walla!
    OK, enough talk, Thanks everyone.

These are great. I like the first wider shot the best.
