Just had to try that new 5D2 of mine

    Actually, 50D appears to be slightly better in this respect due to the fact that its 15mp and 1.6 crop factor provide an equivalency of 22.5mp for small objects, as opposed to 5D's 21mp.
    Thus far I have the EQ mount I got last year, but I haven't used it yet. It's rather ccccccold here at nights now (I know my canadian friends would laugh at me for that rolleyes1.gif ), so hopefully will try to give it a go in the summer...

    Wow BIG !! still looks a little soft to me Nik, liveview really comes in handy for these things for focusing.

    I found that my 400mm goes beyond what what I want it to,
    but using the LiveFocus you can at least get the subject in focus using MANUAL Focus.

    I admit to the softness, Maxine. I was too lazy to set it on the tripod and such, it was just too damn cold. And at 640mm total and only 1/100s could not help my shaky hands.
