Comedian Mark Thomas is to join with NUJ members in an event to highlight the threat of a new UK law that could be used against press photographers taking pictures of the police.
The Counter Terrorism Act allows for the arrest and imprisonment of anyone whose pictures are "likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism".
I'm desperately trying to organise some child care so I can make this event but I just thought I'd mention it here in case any other UK Dgrinners are able to get there.
Things are getting out of hand the in the UK and this need to be nipped in the bud.

Good thing the law's language isn't vague.
Geez. What else can be taken away for freedom? Do they arrest people with sketch pads?
Good luck, I'm hoping that with our latest President, the thoughts of hope will replace the thoughts of fear.
Maybe the terrorist alert scale at the airports will drop down a notch and I won't have to take my shoes off to board a plane.
Basking in the shadows of yesterday's triumphs'.
