Is there any way I can control what photos appear in this area or is it totally dependent upon votes, comments, and history?

It appears that replacing or rotating a photo will remove the popular photo rating. And according to some posts in this thread - http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=86884 - giving a photo a thumbs down will remove it. Thing is, I don't know if giving it a thumbs down would remove it if there had been multiple thumbs ups against it. Maybe someone else knows the answer to that...

I don't know the answer, and I don't know how the thumbs given by non-smugmug users are tracked. Assuming its just cookies, one can always logout, thumbs down, clear cookies/cache, thumbs down, clear cookies / cache..... and go on like that
