Well, I spent a very rainy Friday (last) wondering around downtown DC and the monuments on the mall and Arlington cematary. Didn't get too many shots as the rain was so heavy at times it was hard keeping the camera dry. Trying to shoot and hold an unbrella is tough! But here goes
Wilard Hotel (one of the oldest in DC, my great-grandfater wrote about staying here during the civil war)

and crop of the above in B&W trying for the rule of thirds (though I'm not sure this works better than the above with it centered)

The photo needs a little more pop to the B&W conversion. You may want to try playing with it some more.
