contests and photoshop and dates

I have noticed that a photographer mentioned that he/she took an older photo and modified it within the contest date period making it "legal" to enter. Did I understand that properly? You can take an old photo and modify it within the date of the contest and then it is ok to use it for a current contest?

Or perhaps did they take a current photo taken within the contest timeline and use an older photo to splice in some of it?


In many cases photoshop is okay. Well, combining an old and new photo in parts would be use of photoshop. But is it within the perameters of contest legality?

I hope this makes sense. I just want to know what is legal and what is not.

ps is ok. but the main photo on which you are psing must be taken during the challenge period.

btw - the blue text is really hard to read on the white background :uhoh
