Freezing Fog

While zigging and zagging through Montana on my way to Yellowstone I captured this image crossing Rodgers Pass near Lincoln. I had been creeping along in the fog at 20-25 MPH when I saw this scene. I had to go another 1/2 mile before I found a safe place to pull over and Park.

Beautiful! I actually like the color better, normally in scenes without a bunch of color B&W is a nice alternative though in this case, the bark, fence, and grass are nearly the same color and I think it sort of unites all of the elements of the photo together.

Ron thanks for your comments. I am of the same mind. Originally I saw it as a B&W image, but as I walked back to capture this image the sun started to burn through the fog and lit up the scene just enough to give it some warm tones.

I like the B/W one the best RD. If you set the black point in this photo,
the B/W version will look amazing.

    Great shot. thumb.gifthumb.gif

I do agree with Dwayne. ...or at least try increasing contrast and the B/W conversion will really pop.

Superb shot and a fun story to explain it. Glad you found a safe place to park--this was definitely worth the effort. WOW! I love the color version and I want one for my wall!

    Nice job--thanks for sharing!
