I have noticed on several of my photos with very dark and near black areas have a noticeable amount of posterization. It appears on all sizes except the original. The original sizes look just fine.
Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

Look at the dark back ground and compare with the original

Could you make make a screenshot of what you see with a side-by-side view of both files and highlight the areas you refer to? Your screen must be pretty light or something. On my screen in regular brightness I don't see what you mean.

Also check your screen brightness with the gradients from this page. That'll help you finding the proper screen brightness setting.

My monitor is calibrated with a Eye one display for D50.

Hello, I'm not seeing it. Can you tell us more? Type of display & System. What browser and version?

Never mind, it appears when I am using FF 3.0.5 with color management turned on. :(
