Ok these photos are no where as impressive as some of ya'll's but I thought I'd share anyway. I am unsure of the correct names for these birds so we will call them vultures and the bottom one some kind of herring or crane -sorry:dunno C&C welcome

There was literally over 50 vultures perched up in the trees

While walking through the tall grass to get as close as I could without falling into the water below I came across this: I do not know what kind of animal it is...

    Lets see:

    1st Turkey Vultures in trees, hope ya didn't get wet :D

    2nd I believe bovine skull ne_nau.gif we used to hang em on the
    fence line ward off evil sprits. Oh and it must work cause
    no evil sprits ever showed up rolleyes1.gif

    #3 is a GBH (Great Blue Heron)

    Looks like a place worth staking out some more thumb.gif

    It is a bit spooky seeing that many Turkey vultures at once, but fun to plan new ways to get a interesting shot.
    Pretty area, what part of Texas? I am in North Texas.

    Yea I was a little scared to be walking around so close to them... there were sooo many!! I am in South Texas as far south as you can go before you are in Mexico. Those turkey vultures were in a spot about 8 miles from the Mexican border...

    Just as long as you don't lay down in their presence for too long you'll be just fine. :D Sorry, couldn't resist. They are facinating birds.
