One Day in Yosemite

As a spur of the moment photo trip with some friends I am heading up to yosemite this weekend. Will only be in the park for one day (Saturday) so looking to maximize the time with as much location planning as possible. Anybody have suggestions for best spots for sunrise/sunset and everything in between at this time of year?

This time of the year you have the valley. Lots of locations. Bring chains, we are expecting another storm to be rolling in this weekend.

You might want to checkout Ed Hughes' (ehughes) and Jack Buchanan's (Calfeerider) sites. Both have some beautiful Yosemite NP photos and hands the best Horseshoe Falls shots on Smugmug. If memory serves me right, this is the time of year to get the glowing shot.

How was your trip?

The trip was incredible, weather was perfect. It seemed like everybody there was a photographer, each place we stopped there would be another group there shooting already. We were waiting for the fire falls with about 40 other people but unfortunately there were too many clouds. I can't believe I've waited so long to visit, especially with it being relatively close.
