It's got a lot of natural elements:
The Light: Sunlight
Platform: Oak Bench
Vase: Glass
Subject: A Rose

It was my Valentine's gift from my hubby and they just keep on kicking and the sun was peeking through the clouds to day and I felt that old familiar tug. Naturally, hehe :D , I HAD to capture the moment of the gorgeous sunlight and the beautiful red of the rose. I forced the exposure on a rather fast shutter speed and a fully open ap for a nice shallow DOF to soften the glass vase. Am I weird to find sunlight through the water filled vase so intriguing?? I also can't get enough of the stems in the water.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! Let's rock!

I titled it after one of my fav poems: "Flowers" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
Exerpt:

"...Gorgeous flowerets in the sunlight shining,
Blossoms flaunting in the eye of day,
Tremulous leaves, with soft and silver lining,
Buds that open only to decay..."

The poem is about life and death and the cycle of nature... at least to me. We give the freshly cut flowers as gifts and slowly watch them die. In their dying, I see such beauty. They are such troopers though, the whole dozen is still bright red, opening, and the baby's breath is still white and fragrant. I think he chose a good cluster!
