My Grandfather
There seem to be a few climbers on here so i would like to share this photo, my
Grandfather is the one sat down, he used to be fairly well known in the climbing world a long time ago and wrote for magazines. I think this was taken in the 1930's in the Alps not 100% because he past away in 1975 and my Grandmother last year
Hope you like it

Very nice Gary The stories he must have had to tell.

Some of the rotor heads over and advrider have posted an interesting article
claiming Eurocopter have landed (yes, I said landed) on Everest for the required
2 minutes to claim a new world record. The world is a much smaller place now :cry

You just gotta love oldschool climber pics. The rope was really "Just in case" back then. I know I wouldn't feel like falling on a hemp rope tied directly around myself.

mountain photography. Some of the arial shots were out of a plane in
the bomber style clothing of the day with a huge camera. A climber in his
own right as well.
Pretty amazing stuff.
