Bag for lighting gear advice

I have a couple 6' lightstands and umbrellas that I've been taking over to my parents' house when we visit more and more. I'd like a bag that I can carry them in. I'd also like to be able to fit my 3001/3030 tripod combo in there. B&H has something like this:

Any other suggestions? Would just a long duffel bag do the trick?

You might pick up a duffel bag at any army surplus store for less than $20.
The only feature it won't have is the "slight" padding. But you can work
    around that.

I keep a couple of light stands and a tripod in the bag I bought.

    This one is nice too
This one is nice to .....link
Its pretty good bang for the buck.
And yes you could just shove them in a big bag but they will get pretty scratched up.

Wow, that bag would be a perfect carry-on for this!

    Hmmmmmmmmm.......
    Just a thought...

How about those canvas bags that always come with those $45 folding camping chairs? If I remember correctly, the bag I have for my chair looks very very similar to the photo a couple posts up, and is made of Cordura™, has a shoulder strap (not padded), and even has an outer zippered pouch in addition to the zippered main compartment. Alone the bag seems to be worth more than $45. Gotta love fourth-world labor rates.

Not a bad idea - we can get those chairs for $10. That's a cheap, easy bag. I also found the f.64 LSB @ B&H.

    Bag idea
    Hello,

I have a hard shelled golf travel bag that carries two bags of golf clubs. It has a handle and rollerblade wheels. Very easy to move around.

I can get 4 13' Alien Bee light stands, tripod, backdrop holder, backdrop or two, 4 Alien Bee AB400 lights and a couple of extension cords in it.

A studio on wheels in a hard shelled padded bag. And it carries the clubs too.

They're pretty common at the big golf stores.
