The result of boredom!

Many times when I can't sleep at night and I have nothing better to do I break out the lights and see what I can come up with. Last night I thought hmmm.... Samurai! Here's the end result.

It took about 1 hour to create this shot. 50 minutes of that was trying to remember how to tie the belt and the hakoma (traditional swordsman uniform). This was lit with on Vivitar 285HV with a DIY gridspot. All of the post processing was done in LR 2.3RC.

over all I like the lighting and treatement thumb.gif but I can't help but to think you could have done something more dramatic with the posing/composition! You have a FREAKING samurai sword man! :ivar

Thanks Qarik! I did a few other poses but I liked this one best. Unfortunately space was a limiting factor as the room I was working in was rather small. I'm sure I'll get bored again at night and come up with something else over the next week or so. :D

Laughing.gif this reminds me of the katana I bought off Ebay after watching Kill Bill...For something like $50, I got a blunt object with which to bludgeon burglars, decorated with gold and white gel pen...I wonder where I put it. I should TOTALLY use it for props too! What a great idea wings.gif

Ummmm .... yes, this works ... mostly. Not loving all that negative space above your head though. Can't wait to see what happens when next you get bored.
