The understanding I got from reading the documentation regarding security of photos displayed in the galleries was that there should be a watermark on them.

I have got comments from people asking do these have to be there? So I repeat their question?

I think I have all the other security options in place, so what is the danger of leaving off the watermarks?

Thanks.

    Hi,

This Dgrin tutorial shows you how to make transparent watermarks which aren't as obtrusive:

Watermark Tutorial. You don't have to use them but most photographers do.

    Thanks, Shay!

Yeah, I read that tute, and a lot of other things. I have the SM watermark applied ATM, but really can't see how removing them could be a risk, with the other security options on. Am I missing something?

A watermark will prevent someone using a screen grab app to get your photos. You don't have to use it. You probably have read this help page on image protection:

If you search for watermarks, there are a lot of threads which discuss this.
