Backup Smugmug

Heya all,
For many moons I have been using my own galleries self hosted on my webserver. However recently decided to make the move to SmugMug.

So far I have to say I have been STOKED with the service and the site. I am however wondering. I am pretty thorough with my backups however I am wondering if there is any way to actually backup my Smugmug galleries just in case something ever happens to them on smugmug?

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Just grab a copy of AlbumFetcher or Star*Explorer and download *all* your photos back to your computer if you ever need them. They're your photos. Always were, always are.

Hi Seamus and Dr David,
Thanks so much that gives me what I need to get started, I can do backups every so often on DVDs and other times just by downloading.

You could also just create a directory structure on your hard disk that mirrors your Smugmug site structure and "before uploading", copy the images you are going to upload to the appropriate place in that directory structure. Then, you will always have a complete mirror image on what's on Smugmug without ever having to order DVDs or re-download everything.
