Uploaded photos not appearing

I checked my upload log too.
The Upload Files dialog is up right now - I'm watching it, but no new files are showing up in my upload log or the gallery they should be in. I'm using Mac, Firefox, and the simple drag-n-drop java uploader.
This has happened to me before, and I don't know how to track it down! I think it happens when I upload photos to Facebook in a different tab, and it messes up my SmugMug upload. This could be paranoia, though.
Right now, my photos upload is still doing something, though; even "Checking your photo". Where are they going? Can I get them to appear in the gallery they should be in, or do I need to Cancel and start over?
What do you need to know from me to help track this down?
Thanks!

In Firefox, clear your browser cache, close and restart Firefox. Try a new upload without having the Facebook uploader going on. Do the photos upload?
Then try again with the Facebook uploader in another tab.
What happens each time - do the photos upload?

I have not tried a proper experiment to isolate the cause of the problem. However, simply Canceling the upload, closing the tab, and uploading again does work. I thought I would post here to see if others had encountered a photo upload black-hole, and possibly knew of a cause.
