please don't post protected galleries in public 'browse' section

for me one of the good things about a site like smugmug is the possibility to browse each others albums - but currently there are more and more people protecting their albums with passwords.

well , if that's what they want, fine... but please smugmug people get them out of the public listings on the browse site. right now you can go looking for interesting albums and you keep clicking on albums that say 'this album requires a password - hint: ...' etc.

it would make for a much nicer browsing experience if inaccessible albums were not displayed on public listings at all.

    Respectfully disagree
I don't want my event (and hence potentially paying) customers to go by some hard-to-remember link and as such skipping the whole idea to get to their photos, which by the nature of the event shall not be of public domain.

if u don't want them on the main page, just set the album to be private...that way they don't appear.

But I imagine their are plenty of people that want them on the main page.

no thats not what i mean... i mean when i go into the "browse" section and pick, for example, "sports", i get a lot of links which i can't get into at all.

so i do not mean on a user's mean page - i mean on smugmug's category pages, it doesn't make sense to post private albums in there, but they appear all the same.
