Ants, honey and a snail ?

Noticed a few common black ants about now ( assume they are Lasius niger), so decided to bait them with a honey drop on a milk bottle lid. Was rather suprised to find a small flat shelled ramshorn snail tucking in as well.

Lisa - must admit that snails and slugs are not one of my favourite subjects but I rather liked the colour and texture of this one. As is probably obvious I find the detailed structure, patterns and colours of most other bugs fascinating.

I agree, that last shot is great!

Lee- agree, even the common snails we have here have interesting shells and other ones I've seen can be quite beautiful.
