Bits of Oil paintings

My husbands Grandfather was a famous painter in Europe in the early 1900's. I took these macros from a couple of his oil paintings. I am always looking for something new to photograph during cold Colorado Winters.

Clever idea! I like #2! Can you tell us who the grandfather was?

Thanks to all of you for the lovely feedback. I am so glad you like his work. His name was William Potter. He painted mostly in Europe and and lived in Vermont. My husband says he was actually semi-famous. What ever that means. He did a lot of florals. I am glad you all enjoyed these. I am always looking for something new to photograph to feed my addiction. I wonder if this is the same William Potter? That's neat that you have that connection!
