I have been trying for years to get a good image of this species but they are very skittish. Maybe this one felt sorry for me and gave me the opportunity I needed.

Good capture Duane of an extremely difficult subject.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Excellent shot. I have tried numerous times to get a shot of a Kingfisher, but you are exactly right. They are very skittish. I've never come even close. So congrats! You made the most of this opp.

Wonderful shot! I shot my first KF this past week, but he was so far away it was hard to tell it was a KF.
