i am going to print about 100 portraits of minority people from northern vietnam in hanoi and i am wondering what i should do to "minimize" the possibility of the processing lab from "stealing" my images. I don't want to give them a memory card with "full size" images on it. therefore what should i do? the size of the prints that i want are 10 x 15 cm.. should i export my photos from lightroom and set the size to about 10 x 15 , should i change the quality setting or what is the best way to prevent the lab from "using" my images?

I am going to give the prints to the people who i took the portraits of.

cheers,

Dave

You should get another lab. If you have even the slightest fear that you're dealing with crooks - don't deal with them. There have got to be more trustworthy labs you can use (Bay Photo via Smugmug?).

Resize them to the size you want to print them (10x15 cm).

Thanks, that is what I thought but I wasn't sure. I take a lot of fotos but I don't print too many.

    cheers,

If your using LR / LR2 you could easily copyright them, in the exif and put your siggy on the front....not a ©wheresdavid......but an actual signature......make one on cleand white paper photograph it remove the white background and make it a separate layer so you can position it where ever you want........it will also let people know who took the photo 50yrs from now.......also you could do a signature with year alongise it or below it.
