Birds of prey

I captured these two images while in the Skagit valley shooting snow geese.

I know what the first one is, but not being a bird expert, I'm not sure about the second one. My guess would be that it is a Red Tail Hawk, I'm hoping someone with more knowledge could clue me in.

C&C welcome, I learn from my mistakes.

Thanks.

    Good shots.

The second one looks like a juvenile bald eagle to me.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I'm thinking juvi red-tailed hawk. It is a difficult angle to be certain though!

OK, someone decide on that second bird--we've got 3 possible IDs so far! :D

Thank you all for viewing and commenting.

Glen, this bird was sitting in a tree when I pulled into the parking area. Before flying off it looked a lot like the one in your gallery being held by Pete Bloom.

Baised upon the white speckeled neck/head and the white coloration in front of the tail, I would think Harry is correct with the Northern Harrier ID. Indeed the photo is taken at a difficult angle.
