Image idea not quite working out right

I got this idea after thinking about the film strip effects that we sometimes seen and that I've done before. I thought about bringing that up to the digital age by placing an image onto a CF card, rather than onto a film strip. So I scanned a CF card and gave it a shot. I'm really not happy but I'm trying to find direction on what to do next. Part of the problem is its so flat, but I'm not sure how to get some depth to the card itself from a scan.

It's an interesting idea. The problem is, a CF card is just a square when seen from directly above. If you shot at maybe 30 degrees from the vertical you could also capture the socket edge, which might be more recognizable. I'm not sure that would translate well into a film strip for multiple images. For a one-off shot, you could try doing an OOB technique using an angled shot of the card and its edge as a frame. Maybe if you tell us what you want to use it for it might generate some more thoughts.

I'm inclined to agree with Richard, though - the CF card doesn't have the 'personality' that filmstrip does with its little holes on each side.
