Here's a few photos I took yesterday while I was in Galveston for Mardi Gras. I was amazing that there is still so much devastation from a hurricane that happened around September 13, 2008.

The beaches are so much higher than they used to be, and you can see old foundation poles sticking out of the water from where beach houses used to be.

It was amazing that you could actually walk into a lot of the houses and see that they were still left just like they were the day they were abandoned. Stuff still in the drawers in the kitchen, etc.

Many houses were sitting on the sand on their foundations, which used to be buried about 4 feet in the ground. Pretty amazing stuff. Makes you realize the rebuilding process is far from over. Anyways, enjoy the pics. I have a few more that I might post up a little later.

A house that was out on a pier. The winds/water picked that truck up and laid it down on the concrete walkway to the house.

Nice photos. 6 months is nothing is regards to hurricane recovery. The MS Gulf Coast is still getting it's feet back after Katrina.
