What an unusual looking bird. his wings and color certainly do remind me of a parakeet. I wonder if they are related down the genetic line. Nice pic too, and welcome to the dgrin pictorial audubon society (my term). Thanks for adding to the wealth of avian awareness here.

Susan, weavers are pretty closely related to sparrows. I think any link to parakeets would be prehistoric
