Went to the Focus on Imaging show in Birmingham, UK on Monday. Lots of stands and displays and various models for photographing.

This is my first real attempt at anything like this. For the first couple of shots, I was given an EOS 5D MKII and Canon 24-105mm L lens to play with. Oh how I liked that bit o' kit

All the remaining shots were taken with my 400D, my Sigma 105 Macro and a Canon F1.8 50mm as I needed fast lenses due to not being able to benefit completely from the lighting (due to so many people being there). Unfortunately, at the moment, I don't have anything with any more reach than the Sigma.

All the shots with the 400D were taken in conditions were 'togs were jostling for position and all too often, I had to shoot from further back and through a gap in between heads (so compositions are a little off with missing elbows etc.). Still, I'm pleased with the results as I've never done shots like these before.

These 2 were taken with the 5D2 and the 24-105mm.

#3 FTW - Is her skin that flawless or did you give it some help? Either way - that is a stunning photo!

Second place is a choice between #8 and #9 - She is a stunning woman and I like the character/personallity I see in these.

    Hi Scott,

    Thanks for the compliments :)

With #3, I think what we have is some exceptionally well done makeup. The main work on this image is the Gorman-Holbert B/W conversion with some alterations of my own and some sharpening. I did run the image through noise ninja once on very mild levels so this could have added a touch of smoothing but only a fraction :)

Katie (girl in red) was fantastic for the cameras. She was working with the demonstration team of the product they were selling which if memory serves me right were wireless flash transmitters but she was also turning to the audience and the minute she saw someone raise a camera, she would pose for you. Stunning lady indeed :)

Wow these are really nice! Some vibrant colors here. I love #3 as well - it's just a stunning composition. The 5dii is nice eh! I shot with mine yesterday (finally) with the 24-70. I woke up this morning and my shoulder/arms were sore -_-

It is a very nice camera Marikis. Very nicely balanced and feels good.
