Some bumble bee shots. You can clearly see some mites on the first bee. Have dreadfull trouble with exposure on these guys not helped by the BGs

Hey there Brian that's a really cool shot with the Mites attached
Do they just drop off in time, or do they kill the host?
I actually found a large Katydid inside the house the other day.
Had the door open for the cat to come in and out and noticed it up on the curtain track when I went to shut the door.
You think I could catch the dang thing
It was really late so I got the computer chair climbed on it (not a clever thing to do on my part) and caught it.
Took it out to the little shrub beside the deck and released it,
haven't seen it since dang it! so much for the photo op
Thanks for sharing your shots .... Skippy

:skippy Everyone has the right to be stupid, but some people just abuse the privilege :dgrin
Thanks Skippy,
Suspect the mites just shorten the life span of the bee.
With bugs in the house I normally catch them with a glass and piece of card and then wait a short while to see if the bug calms down. If it does you can often lift the glass and get a few shots before releasing it.

Not necessarily, even though it's not a honey bee, most would be terribly interested to see these pictures.
