When to use Metallic

I am wondering if other shooters have found that metallic is great for some shots but not others. Is it better for shots with vibrant colours or do b&w benefit from this type of paper. I seem to recall reading somewhere that metallic is not recommended for b&w.
Recommendations would be great. I would love to test out multiple papers, but I am in Cyprus right now and the shipping costs alone would be insane. I don't mind starting with a recommendation and then changing if I don't like it, but I can't just test out all possibilities.
Thanks in advance.

lots of threads on the subject, try putting
metallic prints
in the seach box on Dgrin - to see more like this

Adjust normally. Think: Bright colors, but really, lots of subjects'll work great.
