I am looking for some of your favorite shots that could be done at almost any wedding. Often, great shots have to do with backgrounds that are gorgeous but not reproducable. Or, they are moments that you can't capture. I'd like to get ten great poses that I could do at almost any wedding. here are two of mine; i want to see yours!

While just about everyone else on here attributes the "almost" kiss to you Scott, I actually first saw it done at my own wedding (June 24, 2006) when my photographer, Dan Wagner, took this shot of me and the DH (which my husband and I just *love* it's still his wallpaper for his cell phone and computer!)
But I agree it's a great shot to duplicate! One of my most recent attempts:
For summer weddings w/ good weather outside, I personally like to create this shot when possible:

And in this shot, a great way to get the rings along with the "almost kiss"!

GIVING BACK - How will you give?
So ... did I create that shot? Of course not. In fact, have posted - a long while ago - that I saw some other photographer do it. It might have even been on DGrin. I just don't remember. That photog even included a short description of his/her coaching technique to get the couple to pose for the shot and I've used it (the technique) in just about every instance of it that I've done.
Do I do it justice? Well .... maybe sometimes.
This shot is one that I've tried a couple of times. Been successful (but not to this degree) about once, maybe twice. This is a very nice shot!!

Scott could you elaborate on said "Coaching Technique" ?

- We're doing a romatic kiss
- Romantic isn't "mashing your faces/noses together":D - this usually get's a giggle from the bride
- We don't want your faces 90 degrees from each other. I use my hands to represent their faces/heads, showing what a 90 degree angle is.
- We want your noses to just pass beside the other's
- We're not looking for the kiss, but that moment just before the kiss. So get close and hold it.
- The sense of romance will be seen ... or not seen .... in your faces. So think romantic thoughts, like why you married each other. Think about howmuch you love each other. Think about how it's going to feel to kiss each other.
- Are you ready?
- OK, oh, and no laughing! - This get's a lot of laughing and fun. But it also get's the laugh out of their system, makes the shot more fun, and allows them to concentrate on the romantic feelings as they "approach each other".
That's pretty much the entire thing. I may modify this a bit, depending on how I'm getting on with the couple and how "fun" they are. If they are a lot of fun, I usually have to go through the "OK, No laughing" part a couple of times.Oh, and when they do laugh, you have to get those shots as well. Sometimes they turn out to be the best ones!

Here are a couple that are easily duplicatable (cool word huh?)
The idea here is for detail shots...vail, flowers or both

I like this idea, and wanted to get this thread going again. I was about to post this exact same thread, but figured I'd do some searching, and found it. But it's a lot shorter than I expected/wanted.
So...All of you wedding photographers...let's get your best, favorite, most reliable, easily duplicatable wedding poses/shots!

Crazy busy (not like that's a bad thing), I like to come on here for a bit but have not gotten around to posting any pics for a while. I post from work and I can't open any pictures here that aren't majorly downsized.
At home I am processing...processing....processing.....processing....lol
