    Anthony,

I am getting notifications as well. Have you checked whether notifications are being blocked somewhere by spam filtering software, either on your machine or by your email provider? You've been here a long time--did this problem just start happening? When did you last receive a notification?

Based on my deleted e-mails, the last notice I got was 2/25/09. I'm going to try a difference address to see if they go thru. Someone reply to this post please...

I think Comcast and some other ISPs try to do a "reverse DNS" lookup for the IP address that the email came from. We had a similar issue at ttljournal where some of our users weren't getting the email from our registration system and that was the issue. We had to create a "PRT record" for the IP address of the server that's sending the emails. Once PRT record is setup you can validate it using the following command (linux):
    resolveip IP-ADDRESS

I went to my inbox and checked the email headers for emails I get from Dgrin and the originating IP that the email came from was 208.79.45.92. As you can see it doesn't have a PRT record :
    [root@xxxxx logs]# resolveip 208.79.45.92
resolveip: Unable to find hostname for '208.79.45.92'

I think that once you setup PRT record for 208.79.45.92 this problem should go away -- it might take a while to propagate this change -- it all depends on way your DNS server is setup. Here's what a PRT record should look like:
    [root@xxxxx logs]# resolveip xx.xxx.xx.xx
Host name of xx.xxx.xx.xx is somename.somedomain.com
    [root@xxxxx logs]#

    more about it here ...

Well that explains it -- I checked the email headers from Feb-25 and the email used to come from:
    pluto.smugmug.com (63.81.134.25)

    [root@xxxxx logs]# resolveip 63.81.134.25
Host name of 63.81.134.25 is pluto.smugmug.com

see my previous post -- a PRT record for 208.79.45.92 should fix this.

My understanding is that gmail, yahoo and other advanced email providers don't rely on reverse DNS lookups to validate email's sender ...

I see you've already setup PRT record for 208.79.45.92 thumb.gif
    [root@xxxx logs]# resolveip 208.79.45.92
Host name of 208.79.45.92 is nat2.smugmug.net

It might take some time to get propagated throughout the Internet because of the way DNS TTL works ...
