Digital download questions

Hello Gang,
I am in need of help to get through a commercial photo adventure. This is something that I know very little about and don't want to blow the opportunity. Here is the story.....
This past weekend, I was out shooting a snowmobile race up here in Munising, MI. My intent was to just get out and shoot....no commercial intent, no intent of any sales except for a friend that was racing.
This afternoon I got a call from one of the race organizers. He informed me that one of the manufacture's pro race teams needed images of their riders for a press release. By the time I had contacted the race marketing guy for manufacturer, they had already had to dig up archive images for the press release.
They called back half hour later telling me they want images anyways, with licensed digital downloads available. The licensing issue should not be a difficult situation with my smugmug account. My big question here is costs.....what is a fair-for-all fee for a digital image download with commercial use licensing?
I have been searching for other smugmug users that have this feature available and have come across a huge variation in fees. Anywhere from 10 dollars for a low-res commercial to 1000 dollars for high-res commercial.
Any suggestions? I need to have this race gallery set up by midday Tuesday.

You should get help with this if you post in the Mind Your Own Business section of the forum.

You originally posted on Monday at 6 PM. I hope you weren't stuck for an answer for LAST Tuesday?
In future, posting in the correct forum and making use of the "search" feature would be helpful for you.

May be too late for this gig, but in general, when dealing with a corporation like this, you can sometimes get a sense of their advertising budget by noticing where they advertise- do they take out full page ads in the city newspaper? You can find out what it costs to run that kind of ad. Are they advertising in national magazines?
Remember, if they can get your photos for free, they will. It sounds like your photos have a lot of value for them, if they still want them even after using archived photos for that press release. Once they have them, they can use them for ads, press releases ( which are really just another way of advertising), logos, inhouse publications, whatever .
Be sure you take all this into account when you discuss price with them, and don't sell yourself short.
Also, if they are going to use the photos commercially, you will need to have the people in the photos sign photo releases .
Good luck!
