This is a nice little museum at a desert resort of Palm Springs in Southern California.
It's basically two hangers and a runway, one for the Pacific WWII planes and two for the European WWII planes. They have some mothballed jets on the outside and some planes out in a runway behind the museum as well. Most of the planes are flown as well and all the planes are accessible for close up inspection.
The Pacific side had a F4U Corsair that you can get up to see in the cokpit, AT6 trainer, F4 Hellcats, F8F Bearcat, and a few more planes. The European side was cleared out for an event but they had a nice P47 and a P51 Mustang. They have a P38 but I didn't see it. The pièce de résistance for me was the Boeing B17G, the Flying Fortress, in silver with a bright Red tail in a tight fitting hanger.
Lastly, on the runway there were several birds including a C47 Skytrain, B25, a P40 that looked like it was flown that day, and a few more that I didn't get to see.
The place was evenly lit with fluorescent lights and the ceiling was white, which can make for tricky WB and requires some burning in the ceiling in PS.
I'd say it's a definite place to visit if you are into WWII planes.
