The sun was behind the clouds, behind the branches on the left portion of the tree. There are some rays nearly visible to the left. Out of the scene to the left there were larger, broader rays. Behind me and a bit to the right it was sunny. I felt like I was in a huge candy jar.
Veeeery nice. Looks like you had a storm roll through there, which you took full advantage of. That's a lot of flowing water. Is that a wash, or an irrigation ditch? Close to home?

Great!!! This series is one of your best! Love the drama going on here.
Thank you. I got stupid-sick shooting in the river last year. This year I took some dry shoes and socks, but ended up talking to some guy I met about geology for about an hour after I got back to the Jeep and didn't have a chance to change. So far so good though.

Thank you Joel. This is the Mojave River as it runs out of the San Bernardino National Forest. We've had a decently wet year this year. I'm retracing the path of the Spanish Priest, Francisco Garces, who in 1776 made the first recorded crossing of the Mojave. It's about 5 miles from my house. I had to get out in it. It just looked too good not to.
Thanks. I think it was a cottonwood tree- It bugs me that I don't know for sure. It sure was strange though.
Thank you Awais!
