Last weekend trip to Moab I had a chance to try out my new/old mini tripod I got from my Dad's old collection of stuff. It worked really well with my heavy lens. I shot these with my new Nikon 105VR.

I am not sure which one I like the most. I wish I had a little more distance, but the camera would have been in the Colorado River.

I like the 1st shot better. The pose seems a little more natural to me and the background is nicer.thumb.gif

I agree on liking the first better. thumb.gif Decent portraits in what is harsh light. I think the 2nd one would have good potential if your girlfriend leaned more on the side of her hip. At the angle it is shot, the camera distorts the perspective of the thigh and makes it appear somewhat unflattering. Of course this is difficult to see when you are not behind the camera when shooting. :D
