Since I live in Vegas I went to the PMA show....not bad but a noticeable decrease in vendors prolly due to the economy. I have been shooting pro for almost 10 years now and more and more I hate to recreationally shoot with my pro gear because it is an idiot magnet. "How much did that lens cost?" etc, etc. So, my next camera was to find a point and shoot that still got it done.....
Here is my next camera - DMC-LX3S
Key features - 24mm wide angle with available adaptors, RAW and 2.0.
This is pure sex....I could never afford this but damn the shit looks good -
yea, I have my own fetishes...one of them is travel cases....I have too many Pelican cases.....and, yes the clasps bust my knuckles...
They guys add some design and function -
My next bike is going to be a hayabusa and this will be my horizontal camera case.
Even though I shoot Canon now after Nikon dicked the dog for so long with the DSLR bodies....Nothing really gets my attention - except many of these guys have come up with a robust adventure camera which works well for my motorcycle and backcountry adventures - This camera you can take to 30 feet below water.
Comes with a cool, trendy camo skin also.
This booth caught my eye - right away to me it seems their true customer are dive shops renting these out...the quality was not bad for $250.
I do not remember these guys from last year...but, talk about some cool shit -

These glasses are have a camera embedded -
Lots of luggage guys...but, these guys had the coolest booth and very fun product line - http://www.crumplerbags.com
And, lastly....I got the meet the Prez of JOBO - some of you may be familiar with their product line...But they compete with Epson for a great little portable hard drive that you can dump your images and also have a screen to ensure you saved your shots correctly. When I used to shoot the Iditarod start in Alaska, I basically would shoot almost 2000 images in a 3 hour time frame...and, this was bag when if you had a 2 gig card(s) you were hot shit.
These will probably not hit the states for another 2-3 months...but, a nice product.
so, just another Vegas convention.....
