The famous 'Afghan Girl' after 17 years of war

I was just a kid when I saw the cover photo of this Afghan girl on National Geographic with those haunting eyes.

I still remember her after all of these years.....

Her eyes have captivated the world since she appeared on our cover in 1985. Now we can tell her story.

This was published in 2002, but I still think it's a good read.

    I saw documentary several times on Nat geo

    I was only 1 at that time i have seen lots of people shooting their version of Afghan girl here is mine :D

    '85 was a couple of years before my sub to NatGeo started but I remember the photo from the time. War, poverty and desert is not great for the complexion. She still has amazing eyes though.
